Hi-Flyer gets franchise rights for KFC, Taco Bell in Manitoba and Alberta

Hi-Flyer Food (Canada) Inc. has been awarded the franchise rights for 57 KFC and KFC/Taco Bell restaurants in Manitoba and Alberta.

Based out of Calgary, Hi-Flyer is an affiliate of Wholesome Foods Inc, the company that holds the master franchise rights to operate 220 KFC locations in the Phillippines.

KFC is owed by Yum! Brands, based in Louisvuille, Ken., the world’s largest restaurant company with more than 37,000 restaurants in more than 110 countries and territories. In Canada, Yum! Canada markets the KFC, Taco Bell and Pizza Hut brands with close to 1,000 restaurants from coast-to-coast.

Last year the master franchiser of KFC Canada in was placed in bankruptcy protection. That company, Priszm LP, operated 430 restaurants in Canada.
