High-risk sex offender back in custody
A high-risk sex offender who was the subject of a community notification last month is back in custody.
Manitoba’s Integrated High Risk Sex Offender Unit, a joint unit of the Winnipeg Police Service and RCMP, said Winston George Thomas has been charged with breach of probation. He was arrested early Thursday by city police.
Thomas, 35, was released from Headingley Correctional Centre Feb. 24.
At the time of his release, officials said Thomas has a criminal record for sexual offences, aggravated assault, assault, as well as numerous other criminal offences including break and enter with intent.
