Investors Group Field is finally that, a field.
The final strip of artificial turf at the new home for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers was put in place late Tuesday afternoon. Over the next week the rubber and sand that creates the "infill" will be laid out.
"It’s a major milestone," said Mike Clynes, project director with Stuart Olson Dominion and the man overseeing one of the biggest construction projects in Winnipeg’s history.
Just when the last hard hat will be put away has yet to be announced but the Bombers plan to move into their offices in the new stadium following the current season.
