Home deemed unliveable after grow op found

A rural home has been deemed unihabitable following the discovery of a grow operation earlier this month.

On Aug. 1, Carman and Winnipeg RCMP discovered 24 marijuana plants and related growing equipment at a home in the rural municipality of Roland. The plants were valued at approximately $24,000.

Mould and damage created by the grow op caused the residence to be unsafe. The Manitoba Office of the Fire Commissioner has issued an order preventing anyone from living in the building until it is properly remediated.

Police are continuing to investigate a number of suspects and charges are pending.
