House north of city destroyed by fire

  • Print

Flames engulfed a two-storey house located just north of the intersection of McPhillips Street and the Perimeter Highway Monday afternoon.

No residents or pets were inside the house when the fire ignited earlier today, police said. The fire commissioner’s office is onsite and will be investigating the fire. No damage estimates have been released but the house appears to be a total loss.

RCMP and EMS were dispatched to the fire at 1:20 pm. The West St. Paul, East St. Paul and RM of St. Andrews fire departments are at the scene.

The fire departments are filling tanker trucks just south of the perimeter near a Co-Op service station which is reducing north bound traffic on McPhillips to a single lane.
