Huskies surprise Bisons with four TDs in final frame

The University of Manitoba Bisons football team saw a 16-point, fourth-quarter lead slip away at the hands of the University of Saskatchewan Huskies, who defeated the Bisons 44-39 on Friday night at Saskatoon.

The Huskies scored four touchdowns in the final frame, including two in the final two minutes of the game.

Saskatchewan was led by quarterback Chase Bradshaw, who completed 38 of 60 passes for 426 yards and three touchdowns.

Manitoba quarterback Cam Clark completed eight of 17 passes for 158 yards and two touchdowns, and Ryan Marsch went 7-15 for 102 yards.

Anthony Coombs led Manitoba with 13 carries for 158 yards and two touchdowns, while Kienan Lafrance added a touchdown, Teague Sherman had a fumble recovery touchdown and Ranji Atwall had a 77-yard interception-return touchdown.

The No. 8-ranked Bisons, who started the season 3-1, have lost two straight road games and fell to 3-3 to sit tied with unranked Saskatchewan (3-3).

The Bisons will play at home in their last regular-season game when they host the UBC Thunderbirds on Oct. 20 at 1 p.m. at University Stadium.
