WINNIPEG — The fire that destroyed a Royalwood home caused $1 million damage, a spokesman for the Winnipeg Fire and Paramedic Service said Sunday.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation two days after the blaze destroyed the house at 35 Westwater Dr. Friday night.
No one was injured but the large home was razed.
Firefighters on the scene said they believed the blaze would be eventually ruled accidental.
A spokesman said the bungalow is large and it has to be pulled apart for investigators to discover what caused the blaze.
"If it’s a total loss, it takes time to get a back hoe in and pull it apart. It’s not a one or two day thing," he said.
