Jazz pianists Kaeshammer, Roberts playing WECC this fall

  • Print

Jazz Winnipeg will be bringing in two of Canada’s top pianists to the West End Cultural Centre in November.

Michael Kaeshammer will perform Thursday, Nov. 14 and former Winnipegger Bryn Roberts will be behind the keyboard on Sunday, Nov. 17.

Kaeshammer’s latest CD, With You in Mind, is a tribute to New Orleans R&B legend Allen Toussaint, who was one of Kaeshammer’s musical influences when he was growing up in Germany.

Roberts, who is now based in New York, will release his third album this fall, a collaboration with Canadian tenor saxophonist Seamus Blake, drummer Johnathan Blake and bassist Orlando le Fleming.

Tickets to see Kaeshammer ($35) and Roberts ($18) are available now at jazzwinnipeg.com, by phone at 204-989-4656 or in person at the Jazz Winnipeg office.
