The Winnipeg Jets have decided to put defenceman Zach Redmond into action by sending him on a conditioning stint to the AHL.
Redmond will join the St. John's IceCaps for their final three regular season games, they announced late today.
The 24-year-old suffered a serious injury in February when he was stepped on by a teammate's skate. He required three hours of surgery in Raleigh, N.C., to repair damage to his femoral artery and the nerves and tendons in his right leg.
He's been back on the ice for about two weeks in Winnipeg.
