NASHVILLE, Tenn. — More solid goaltending by Ondrej Pavelec backed the Winnipeg Jets to a 3-1 victory over the Nashville Predators this afternoon at Bridgestone Arena.
Pavelec had 39 saves for the victory.
The Jets moved four points clear of the 12th-place Predators in the Western Conference playoff chase, 66-62, and into a tie with the Dallas Stars, who hold down the eighth and final spot today.
Olli Jokinen broke open a scoreless game at 5:02 of the second and the Jets never trailed.
They also had goals from Andrew Ladd and Devin Setoguchi to move to 11-3-1 under new coach Paul Maurice.
