Jets announce TV schedule
Sooner or later the National Hockey League season will be upon us and Winnipeg Jets fans can take comfort in knowing that, just like last year, all of their games will be televised.
In conjunction with the NHL, the Jets announced Thursday their national TV broadcast schedule for the 2012-13 campaign.
The Jets’ home opener will once again be featured on CBC’s Hockey Night in Canada as they play host to the Carolina Hurricanes at 1 p.m. on Sat. Oct. 13. Winnipeg will be showcased on HNIC 21 times this season, 14 of those games at MTS Centre, the other seven on the road, and include nine Southeast Division match-ups and three versus Original Six teams: Detroit on Oct. 27, at Boston on Nov. 17 and at home to Montreal on Feb. 17.
The HNIC schedule also includes contests against five Canadian teams: Ottawa on Jan. 19; Vancouver on Feb. 9; Montreal on Feb. 17; Ottawa again on March 16 and at Ottawa on April 13, the last game of the regular season.
The Jets will also play five times on TSN’s national network (three at home, two on the road) while all remaining games will be televised regionally this season on TSN Jets with Dennis Beyak again calling the action.
As well, TSN 1290 will be broadcasting all 82 regular season games and seven exhibition games, with Brian Munz and analyst Shane Hnidy at the microphone.
