Jets call up goalie Pasquale for 'precautionary reasons'

  • Print

The Winnipeg Jets have recalled Eddie Pasquale from the St. John’s IceCaps for what is being called ‘precautionary reasons.’

Both Ondrej Pavelec and Al Montoya were at practice on Wednesday at MTS Iceplex and neither left early because of injury.

The 22-year-old Pasquale has played in 40 games for the IceCaps this season, posting a 14-21-4 record, 2.69 goals against average and 0.909 save percentage. This is his second recall with the Winnipeg Jets this season, the first coming in mid February when Montoya suffered a lower-body injury.

Pasquale played in 38 games for the IceCaps last year, accumulating a 23-12-1 record, 2.41 goals against average and 0.911 save percentage en route to being named to the AHL All-Rookie Team being selected as the IceCaps Top Rookie. He was selected by the Atlanta Thrashers in the fourth round, 117th overall, in the 2009 NHL Draft.
