Jets to open season on road, home opener slated for Oct. 4

  • Print

The Winnipeg Jets will open their 2013-14 NHL season on the road at Edmonton on Oct. 1.

The schedule was released today once the league, its players and the IIHF hammered out the agreement to send NHL players to the 2014 Winter Olympic Games.

The Jets’ 82-game schedule sees the team play its first home game Oct. 4 at the MTS Centre against the L.A. Kings.

Nov. 2, a Saturday afternoon game, will mark the first-ever regular-season visit of the Chicago Blackhawks to the MTS Centre.

The coming season will include a 19-day Olympic break for the Jets, between Feb. 8 and 27.

The regular season concludes April 11 with a game in Calgary.
