A storm that dumped 20 millimetres of rain and hail on Kenora on Sunday evening flooded out roads and dumped debris throughout the city.
A spokeswoman for the City of Kenora said roads in the Minto region as well as Ninth Street were especially hard hit.
City Hall received several complaints of flooded basements and detours were up on Monday bypassing some of the worst hit areas.
"The crews are out and they are trying to clean up the debris as fast as they can," said a Kenora city official. "They are trying to clean out the catch basins that are plugged. The crews are working on it as fast they can. We’re asking the public to remain patient."
At least one boat in a local marina was partially sunk in the storm.
