Lac du Bonnet finally getting new, larger care home

The province will begin the construction of a long-promised personal care home in Lac du Bonnet in the spring of 2014, Premier Greg Selinger announced today.

The 80-bed facility will cost $32 million. It will replace the existing 30-bed care home in the town.

In February 2011, the province announced a $200-million fund to create hundreds more personal care home beds to meet the future needs of seniors.

New personal care homes are currently in development in Niverville and Morden-Winkler, as well as the Holy Family Home in north Winnipeg.
