Light at the end of city's rainy tunnel

The dreary, rainy, monsoon-like weather conditions for Winnipeg and southern Manitoba may soon be coming to an end.

Environment Canada’s forecast for Winnipeg calls for a few showers ending late this morning and then cloudy conditions with a high of only 11 C – and an overnight low of just 1 C with a risk of frost - but the picture should change beginning Wednesday.

The forecast calls for sunny skies and a high of 19 C on Wednesday with the same conditions and a high of 21 C on Thursday. There is a 70 per cent chance of showers for Friday with a high of 19 C, but the weekend looks promising with temperatures in the 21-25 degree range.

Rainfall amounts reached the 16.5-millimetre mark on Monday.

Normal high temperatures for this time of year are 22 C.
