MKO keeps Harper in grand chief role

David Harper has been re-elected as the Grand Chief of the Manitoba Keewatinowi Okimakanak (MKO).
Harper was elected for a second three-year term as Grand Chief earlier this week during the 31st MKO annual general assembly being held at Norway House Cree Nation.
Harper was re-elected by the MKO’s chiefs and councillors on the second ballot, earning a majority of 66 votes compared to Mike Muswagon’s 49 votes.
MKO is a non-profit political advocacy organization that represents 30 First Nations communities in Northern Manitoba.
