Woman killed, two children in hospital after Trans-Canada crash

A woman was killed and two children who were with her are in hospital following a collision on the Trans-Canada Highway about 25 kilometres east of Brandon.

The woman was driving a minivan when it collided with a semi-truck. One child was medevaced in critical condition. The other child was in stable but guarded condition. The male driver of the semi-truck was not hurt.

The minivan was travelling north on Provincial Road 340 and turning west on the Trans-Canada at about 5:20 p.m. Friday when the collision happened. The semi-truck was westbound on the Trans-Canada. There are no more details about the crash at this time.

Westbound traffic on the Trans-Canada is expected to be delayed for several hours. Motorists can take Highway 16 going west.
