Police have one male in custody after shots rang out in the Exchange District overnight, followed by a car crash.

The gun play ended in a three-car crash just before 12:30 a.m. on Princess Street at McDermot Avenue.

Winnipeg police were still investigating the incident this morning.

"No one was injured (by the shots)," said Const. Eric Hofley, a spokesman for the Winnipeg Police Service. "One person was taken to hospital in stable condition with non-life-threatening injuries" from the crash.

Charges are pending against the male in custody.
