  • Print

Winnipeg police have arrested a man in connection with a July 4 gas bar heist.

Cadets spotted a man yesterday in roughly the same area who matched the description of the suspect in a gas bar holdup in the 600 block of Notre Dame Avenue. The suspect got away with an undisclosed amount of cash.

On July 14, members of the Auxiliary Cadets were in the area of Logan Avenue and Princess Street where they observed the suspect, police reported Tuesday.

With the assistance of the Community Support Unit the accused was arrested without incident.

Benjamin John Leask, 31, of Winnipeg was charged with robbery and detained at the Provincial Remand Centre.
