An 18-year-old Winnipeg man has been arrested and charged with a convenience store robbery that took place early Monday morning.
Winnipeg police said Tuesday they were called at 3:30 a.m. Monday to a convenience store in the 2000 block of Pembina Highway by a 37-year-old clerk who reported a man wearing a disguise and claiming to have a weapon had made off with an undisclosed amount of cigarettes.
About 10 a.m. Monday, police say they located a suspect in the 1800 block of Pembina Highway and arrested and charged him with robbery and wearing a disguise in the incident. The same man was also charged with mischief for allegedly smashing the window of a business in the 2500 block of Pembina Highway earlier Monday.
The man has also been charged with three counts of breaching probation and failure to comply with a sentence.
