Man charged in Thompson homicide
An Oxford House man is under arrest today for the recent murder of a 22-year-old woman who, police say, he didn’t know.
On Thursday Sept. 2, Thompson RCMP were called to a home on the city’s Brandon Crescent over concerns about an unresponsive woman. There, they discovered the victim’s body. An autopsy showed she died of blunt force trauma.
After an investigation, 20-year-old Dustin Wyatt Chubb of Oxford House was arrested and charged with first-degree murder.
Chubb and the victim were not previously known to each other, RCMP said in a statement. Anyone with further information about the incident is asked to contact Thompson RCMP.
RCMP said they would not release the victim's name at the request of her family.
