Man charged with robbing a city bank last March
A man has been arrested and charged with a bank robbery committed more than seven months ago.
Richard Leonard Collins, 46, has been detained in the Winnipeg Remand Centre.
Winnipeg police said today that a man went into a financial institution in the 100 block of Lakewood Boulevard on March 20, at about 1:50 p.m. and demanded cash, fleeing after getting some. There were no injuries.
Last month, Winnipeg police investigators were sharing information with several police agencies in Alberta when they identified a possible suspect for the earlier bank robbery here.
Last Friday, with the help of Brandon Police Service officers, Winnipeg police arrested Collins in a hotel in Brandon.
Police in Edmonton and Calgary, as well as the Alberta RCMP, continue to investigate.
