Man dead after collision with moose

A 23-year-old Lac du Bonnet man died late Friday after his vehicle flipped into a water-filled ditch after colliding with a moose.

Powerview RCMP said the accident occurred shortly before midnight on Highway 304, about 20 kilometres north of Powerview. Police said the driver was heading north when his vehicle collided with a moose. The Ford Escort rolled over at least once and landed upside down in a water-filled ditch.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene. He was the sole occupant of the vehicle.

His name will not be released.
