Man dies in head-on collision near The Pas

A man was killed this afternoon in a head-on collision near The Pas.

RCMP said the collision happened on Highway 10, about 15 kilometres north of The Pas.

A southbound pickup truck drifted into the northbound lanes, hitting a northbound pickup.

The force of the collision threw both trucks into the east ditch. Both drivers had to be extricated from their trucks.

The driver of the northbound truck was found dead at the scene.

The 44-year-old driver of the southbound truck was taken to The Pas Health Centre in stable condition.

RCMP said alcohol is considered a factor in the collision. It remains under investigation.
