Man faces charges after chase, struggle with police

  • Print

A Winnipeg man is facing multiple charges after a struggle with police officers Wednesday evening.

A man attempted to break into a shed in the area of the 200 block of Ferry Road and after a brief search police were able to locate a suspect.

During the arrest, the suspect resisted and was able to escape, despite officers using a Taser device. The canine unit eventually tracked him down and he was taken into custody without further incident.

The same suspect was also identified in a theft at a store in the 1400 block of Portage Ave on Apr. 1.

Gordon Ian Watson, 27, is facing charges of assaulting a police officer and break and entering.
