Man fined $25K for tax evasion

A Winnipeg man has been fined $25,491 for tax evasion after trying to avoid paying $33,988 in taxes.

Samuel Nagler, 56, was fined today after pleading guilty in provincial court.

The Canada Revenue Agency said in a statement that Nagler created false business invoices to reduce his income tax from 2005 to 2008.

The CRA says the fine is 75 per cent of the evaded taxes.
