Man hit with concrete during robbery mere steps from city hall

Two men were assaulted by four people late Tuesday mere steps from city hall, with one of the attackers striking a  victim with a piece of concrete.

Four assailants confronted a 48-year-old man in the 400-block of Main Street around 11:30 p.m. and demanded his belongings, and then proceeded to beat him.

A 55-year-old passerby who intervened in the attack was also beaten by the attackers.

The attackers fled the area but police were on the scene quickly and found four suspects near Main Street and William Avenue.

A 20-year-old man and a 21-year-old man, along with an 18-year-old female and a 19-year-old female have been charged with robbery with intent. They are being held in custody.
