Man missing since 2009 found safe

A Winnipeg man reported missing nearly four years ago has been found safe and sound, police said.

Brent Alexander Staple was 33 when he was last seen June 28, 2009, exiting the front door of his apartment block in the first 100 block of University Crescent, in the company of an older man.

Police were also looking for any information on the unidentified limping man who was seen on surveillance footage with with Staple.

In 2012, Winnipeg police issued a press release about unresolved missing persons cases and included Staple.

Today, police issued another press release saying that Staple was located and safe. A police spokeswoman said today they can’t release any further information – including when and where Staple was located and what he’s been doing all this time.
