Man stabbed at West End party

One man was stabbed and a police officer was assaulted at a rowdy party early Sunday morning.

Just before 2 a.m., police were called to a home in the 800 block of Strathcona Street where a 23-year-old male had been stabbed in the upper body.

The man was taken to hospital in unstable condition but he has since been upgraded to stable condition.

No arrests have been made and no suspect information is yet available. The investigation is continuing.

While at the party, a 17-year-old boy confronted police and physically assaulted one of the officers, causing minor injuries.

The youth is facing charges of assaulting a peace officer and drinking underage. He was released on a promise to appear.
