Man in serious condition after being stabbed, robbed of backpack

A 26-year-old man is in serious but stable condition at the Health Sciences Centre after he was stabbed on Henry Avenue about 2:30 a.m. today.

Police said two men armed with a knife went up to a group of people on the street. The group started to walk away before the armed man grabbed the victim and stabbed him multiple times to the upper body. He then took the victim's backpack and fled.

Police are looking for a man aboriginal in appearance, about 18 to 24 years old. He’s about 5’7 with a skinny build. He wore black clothing and his face was covered.

Officers from Division 11 are investigating.
