Two bank robberies in broad daylight kept Winnipeg police busy Tuesday afternoon.
The first theft occurred at approximately 2 p.m. in the 200 block of Portage Avenue, followed by a second robbery an hour later in the 1400 block of Portage.
According to police, a lone male suspect in the robberies approached the teller and produced a note demanding money, indicating that he had a weapon. In both instances, an undisclosed amount of money was obtained and the suspect fled.
The suspect is described as a 35- to 40-year-old black male, approximately 5-foot-5 in height with a shaved/bald head.
