Man who fell in front of taxi upgraded to stable condition

A man taken to hospital in critical condition after he fell in front of a taxi early New Year’s Day has been upgraded to stable condition, police say.

Police said the man, 31, slipped off the curb and fell in front of the cab northbound on Osborne Street at about 4 a.m..

Police and other emergency personnel were dispatched to the scene in the 100 block of Osborne Street.

The investigation is continuing by members of the central traffic unit, police said.
