Manitobans win bronze, silver medals at Commonwealth Games

Two Manitobans were part of a medal rush at the Commonwealth Games in New Delhi on Thursday.

Selkirk archer Doris Jones won silver as a member of Team Canada’s compound bow squad at the Commonwealth Games in New Delhi on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Winnipeg gymnast Gabby May captured bronze in the vault – May’s second medal of the games, after winning bronze in the team event earlier this week.

In total, Canada doubled its total medal count on Day 4 of the Games – soaring from 12 to 24 medals.

Altogether, Canadian athletes won nine gold, one silver and two bronze medals
