Maples grow-op busted

Winnipeg police busted a sizable marijuana grow operation in the Maples on Tuesday evening.

Officers with the drug unit and tactical support unit issues a search warrant at a home in the first 100 block of Bender Bay, seizing 296 plants with an estimated street value of about $330,000. In addition, 77 grams of dried, packaged pot valued at $770 was also seized, grow operation equipment valued at $15,000 and about $19,000 in cash.

A 42-year-old man and 34-year-old woman face a number of drug-related charges and were released on a promise to appear in court.
