  • Print

Two robbers, both armed with weapons and wearing masks held up a convenience store overnight, Winnipeg police reported Monday.

There were two employees on duty about 3 a.m. in the store on the 1100 block of St. Mary’s Road when the two men entered and demanded cash, cigarettes and other merchandise. Neither worker was injured. The weapons in the robbery were not disclosed.

Winnipeg police are asking the public to help investigators. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).

Police also reported no one was injured in a Sunday evening fire in Charleswood.

Emergency personnel were called to the fire in the 700 block of Municipal Road about 11:30 p.m. Damage estimates were pegged at $40,000.

The fire was ruled accidental.
