Mayor Sam Katz has promoted one of his longest-serving advisers to the position of chief of staff.
Brad Salyn, who joined the mayor’s staff when Katz was first elected mayor in 2004, will replace Bonnie Staples-Lyon, who has served as chief of staff for the past three years.
Staples-Lyon will move over to direct the city’s new office of policy development and communications. The pair of moves were announced Wednesday in a statement.
Staples-Lyon and Salyn are effectively switching responsibilities, as the latter served as the mayor’s policy adviser. Prior to that, Salyn was Katz’s communications director.
