Minnesota teens found after nearly 2 days missing on Manitoba river
WINNIPEG - Three teenage girls from Minnesota have been found after they lost their canoe on the Pigeon River east of Lake Winnipeg.
The girls, aged 17, were on a wilderness canoe trip on the river -- known as the province’s "Colorado River" due to its white-water conditions -- when they were reported being more than 40 hours overdue in meeting the rest of their group at Sturgeon Falls.

Bloodvein RCMP chartered a helicopter and found the three on Monday at about 2:30 p.m., located about 20 kilometres downstream from Round Lake, officials said today.
An RCMP officer was able to exit the hovering helicopter and use an axe to clear a landing area.
The teenagers lost some of their gear when the rapids sucked away their canoe and they were forced to sleep overnight in garbage bags until being found by four canoeists from Brantford, Ont., police said.
The three girls, who weren’t injured, have been reunited with their group.
