Miss Saigon singer Lea Salonga coming to casino

WINNIPEG - A little taste of Broadway is coming to McPhillips Street Station.

Tony Award winner Lea Salonga will perform at the casino on Sept. 28 and 29, it was announced yesterday. Tickets go on sale Thursday for $60 at Ticketmaster.

The Filipina vocalist/actress is best known for her role as Kim in Miss Saigon, but has starred in numerous musicals, including Les Misérables and Grease.

She also appeared on the soap opera As the World Turns.

At the city’s other casino, Club Regent, ticket details were released for the previously announced Kenny G show on Oct. 8. Tickets for the smooth-jazz saxophonist will go on sale Thursday for $70 and $80 at Ticketmaster.
