Monday promoted to lead PGA Tour Canada

The PGA Tour has decided that its point man in determining whether it was worth it to take over the Canadian Tour will be its new leader.
Jeff Monday has been promoted to the new position of president of PGA Tour Canada by commissioner Tim Finchem, it was announced today.
Monday, the former longtime PGA Tour senior vice-president, tournament business affairs, spent most of 2012 visiting Canadian Tour events and assessing operations and value.
The PGA Tour had bailed out the debt-ridden Canadian Tour late in 2011, with an option to take control if it deemed the venture worthy.
In devoting his energies to that assignment, Monday has been across the country to take stock and his recommendations led Finchem and the PGA Tour to assume control in August.
Monday himself has been to Winnipeg at least three times, once to the actual Players Cup tournament last July, again in late summer to help pitch the tournament and the Tour to sponsors and again last week to announce that the Players Cup has a spot on the PGA Tour Canada schedule through 2015.
