Thirty-nine games into the AHL season, a stronger Moose lineup was back at practice this morning at the MTS Centre as preparations began for this weekend’s home series against Hershey.

The Moose have won a season-best four in a row despite missing 218 man-games due to injuries and call-ups. It’s modest compared to Hershey’s 10-game winning streak.

Today at practice, newly assigned defenceman Mathieu Schneider was on the ice, as were defenceman Nolan Baumgartner and Matt Pettinger, both cleared to play after recent injuries.

Also today, the Moose released defenceman Neil Petruic from his tryout contract and he’s likely headed to Victoria (ECHL), and they assigned Matt McCue to Bakersfield (ECHL) in order to get more playing time. McCue’s been out nearly two months because of a concussion.

That leaves just two players out — Alexandre Bolduc, who’s on recall to Vancouver, and defenceman Mike Funk, out with a concussion.
