Natural gas bills to remain steady
No news is good news for Manitobans who heat their homes with natural gas.
In an order today Manitoba’s Public Utilities Board said it’s approved a request by Centra Gas Manitoba to maintain the primary gas rate effective Nov. 1.
It means there’s no impact on customers’ bills.
Centra had requested the Nov. 1, 2012 primary gas rate to remain unchanged from the Aug. 1, 2012 rate.
It’s in keeping with a long-term trend that’s seen the annual bill for residential customers decline since November 2008.
The next review of the primary gas rate takes place as of Feb. 1, 2013.
Centra is a subsidiary of Manitoba Hydro and is Manitoba’s largest natural gas distributor.
