New southbound stretch of Disraeli to open Wednesday

Southbound motorists will be able to drive on a new stretch of the Disraeli Bridge Wednesday.

Winnipeg officials plan to open the bridge to southbound traffic Wednesday morning following rush hour. Northbound lanes of the new overpass opened last month.

Construction will continue through the summer and is expected to be complete in October.

The $195-million Disraeli Bridge project is partially-financed through a public-private partnership, and is currently on time and on budget.
