Police consider charges in Friday collision

  • Print

The three people involved in an early-morning motor vehicle collision in Fort Garry on Friday have been identified and could be facing charges.

The accident is under investigation.

"Nobody was seriously hurt and there was no criminal activity prior to the accident," said a police spokesman.

Officers were called to Chancellor Matheson Road and University Crescent around 3 a.m. after receiving a report that an eastbound vehicle had been travelling a high rate of speed when it struck the curb, drove over the sidewalk and came to rest after hitting an elevated stairwell.

Security from the University of Manitoba told police officers that three people had been seen fleeing from the vehicle.
