Sometimes an accident is just an accident.
The three people involved in an early-morning motor vehicle collision on Friday have been identified but it doesn't appear as if they will be facing any charges.
"It's just an accident," a Winnipeg Police Service spokesman said. "Nobody was seriously hurt and there was no criminal activity prior to the accident."
Officers were called to Chancellor Matheson Road and University Crescent around 3 a.m. after receiving a report that an east-bound vehicle had been travelling a high rate of speed when it struck the curb, drove over the sidewalk and came to rest after hitting an elevated stairwell.
Security from the University of Manitoba told police officers that three people had been seen fleeing from the vehicle. The accident is under investigation.
