Winnipeg’s main drags and collector routes are all plowed and now city crews are tackling back lanes, areas prone to drifting snow as well as some sidewalks.
A residential plow isn’t planned for the weekend but the city will monitor weather conditions and reassess Monday morning. In the meantime, homeowners can call 311 and request a plow if drifting has made their street impassible.
Plowing of sidewalks on main routes, bus routes and collector streets is underway and will continue throughout the weekend. Then crews will start working on residential sidewalks later in the week.
Sanding trucks are continuing to work around-the-clock to address icy conditions and improve traction.
About 300 loaders, graders and sanders are on the streets.
