No snow expected yet for southern Manitoba

  • Print

Don’t count on much sun today. The forecast is for mainly cloudy skies and a high near zero.

The good news is there is no snow in Environment Canada’s weather outlook for the city for the next several days.

Tonight, expect a low of -8 C. On Wednesday, it will be mainly sunny with a high of plus 1 C.

Meanwhile, in parts of northern Manitoba a snowfall warning continues. A low pressure system tracking across the northern reaches of the province will bring another 5 to 10 cm of snow to Gillam, Shamattawa and York regions today. As of 6 a.m. 14 cm had fallen so far in Gillam.

Elsewhere in Northern Manitoba the snowfall has tapered off. In Flin Flon, the system brought 26 cm of snow while 17 cm was reported in Thompson.
