You’re not alone if you believe Winnipeg has some of the worst drivers ever.
Many other scratched and dented denizens of our frozen Prairie burg share your opinion — and now, it seems, so do the producers of a long-running reality-TV series that focuses on Canada’s worst behind-the-wheel performers.
The Discovery Network series Canada’s Worst Driver is casting for dysfunctional drivers to take part in its 10th season, and the series’ producer, Toronto-based Proper Television, has targeted Winnipeg as a potential source of motorists in need of re-education.
Since it’s unlikely anyone will volunteer him- or herself for the show, Canada’s Worst Driver is counting on friends and family members to nominate the bad drivers in their lives as potential subjects. Producers from the show will visit Winnipeg in April to do ride-along auditions with drivers deemed by their loved ones to be in need of assistance.
And according to a press release from Proper Television, one motorist from the local pool of lousy licence-holders will be chosen for Season 10’s field of eight Canada’s Worst Driver candidates who will travel to the show’s rehabilitation centre for road-worthiness retraining during filming of the show’s 10th season.
