Northbound Disraeli Bridge to open this evening

It’s been a long time coming, but starting today following the afternoon rush hour, all northbound lanes on the new Disraeli Bridge and the roadway connecting the overpass to the bridge will open for the first time.
Southbound and northbound lanes of the new overpass and southbound lanes on the bridge opened this summer.
The project is running on time and meeting its budget of $195 million.
Construction will continue through the early fall and the Gladstone Street and Disraeli Street on/off ramps and the Talbot Avenue turnoff of the Disraeli Overpass and Disraeli Bridge are all slated to open in October.
The new Disraeli bridges replace the 50-year-old structures that span the Red River and the Canadian Pacific Railway main line. The city hopes these improvements will rejuvenate a critical piece of Winnipeg’s transportation infrastructure.
