Small plane with three on board crashes north of Kenora

Three people were transported to hospital Wednesday after a small plane crashed into the woods near Trout Lake, north of Kenora.

The pilot and two passengers were taken to Lake of the Woods Hospital in Kenora.

A hospital supervisor said late Wednesday that one patient was released while the other two were being transferred to hospitals in Thunder Bay and Duluth, Minn.

According to information supplied by Transport Canada, the Cessna 180G plane is registered to an American from Cloquet, Minn.

Peter Hildebrand of the Transportation Safety Board of Canada said he was unaware of any Manitobans being on board.

No details were available Wednesday as to the cause of the crash.
